Non-Medical Home Health Aid

in Spokane

The Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s) is a term that is used to describe self-care activities that we perform on a normal daily basis.

Within the Healthcare Professional realm, the ability or inability to perform the Activities of Daily Living can be a measurement of a person’s function and independence. While basic categories of ADLs have been suggested, what specifically constitutes a particular ADL in a particular environment for a particular person may vary. Care To Stay Home has designed our services to enhance the dignity and independence for those who may need assistance with any Activity of Daily Living.

Basic Activities of Daily Living

Basic ADLs consist of self-care tasks, including:

  • Bathing
  • Personal hygiene and grooming
  • Dressing and undressing
  • Feeding oneself
  • Functional transfers, i.e. Getting out of bed
  • Voluntarily controlling urinary and fecal discharge
  • Ambulation (Walking or using a wheelchair)
  • Toileting

Instrumental Activities of Daily Living

Instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) are not necessary for fundamental functioning, but they let an individual live independently in a community. Learn more below by clicking on the links.

Why we are different?

We don’t have to be the biggest — we just have to be the best!
Many companies claim to have good staff, but only at Care To Stay Home do we have a unique 7 point hiring system and a 100% Guarantee on all of our caregivers.

Do they have the skills and experience to go to work?

Do they have the physical ability and flexibility to do what we do?

Do they love the
people they serve?

Do they love
what they do?

Do they have the qualifications and certifications necessary for employment?

There are many more things we screen for such as reliability, honesty, integrity, criminal background, drugs, and the list goes on.  We want to know that the people that serve our clients are the people that truly want to work for our clients.  We want to love our caregivers and we want them to love our clients!

Once this process is complete, it is really just the beginning.  We then orient and train each caregiver to assure they understand our techniques, our policies and our procedures.  Next we train them individually for each client to assure they understand the transfer needs of each client; the nutritional needs of each client; the medication needs of each client; etc…

Throughout long term care, most caregivers have at least a 50% or greater chance of landing a job with any job they qualify. At Care To Stay Home, we hire only 1 in 50 candidates to assure we have the best!  Then we cap this off with a 100% satisfaction guarantee – if you don’t like a caregiver for any reason, they will be replaced – no questions asked!

If you are a caregiver and believe you are loving, caring and among the best – please join us.
